To 99% of users that model will look amazing and they won't notice or care about small details that could be changed to make it appear less flat. The example they posted (which at the time was probably an early version that was later iterated on) looks a bit flat, and I see a few things I'd personally do to change it, but in any case it's always a question of where the stopping point is. You can put more work in to create more depth and subtlety by keying frame changes on any individual part of the character onto the timeline - e.g., mixing traditional animation into the model.
